Lucy McFadzean is an AHRC DTP funded doctoral student at Aberystwyth and Exeter who’s research looks at the cultural policies of the Greater London Council between 1981-1986. My research focuses include the role of the local state in supporting grassroots cultural activism, the historical development of cultural industries policies, and the role of cultural democracy in politicised communities.
