Dr Daniel Ashton is Associate Professor of Cultural and Creative Industries at Winchester School of Art, University of Southampton. He is the co-editor of Cultural Work and Higher Education (with Caitriona Noonan, Palgrave Macmillan, 2013) and his published research explores digital media technologies, creative industries labour and policy, and participatory cultures. He is currently undertaking research on arts funding with a number of Southampton-based arts organisations. Recent publications include an article on arts audience segmentation in Cultural Trends (with Dr Ronda Gowland-Pryde) and a chapter on universities as creative hubs in Creative Hubs in Question(with Dr Roberta Comunian).
